Kumbi Cocoa operates a transparent and traceable cocoa supply network designed to connect farmers directly with global markets.

Traditional cocoa supply chains often involve multiple intermediaries, which can obscure the origin of beans and limit transparency. Kumbi’s sourcing model removes many of these barriers through direct purchasing relationships with farmer cooperatives.

Through its Licensed Buying Company in Ghana, Kumbi purchases cocoa directly from farmers and cooperatives such as Papabra Association.

Every bag of cocoa purchased through the Kumbi Cocoa LBC network is tracked using:

Barcode identification systems
Digitally weighed purchasing stations
GPS mapping of farms
Mobile purchasing devices used by cooperative clerks
Secure digital payments to farmers through mobile money systems

These systems allow cocoa to be traced from the farm level through export and processing, ensuring compliance with international sustainability and traceability requirements.

This infrastructure also supports compliance with emerging regulations such as the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), which requires farm-level traceability for cocoa entering European markets.
